I wanted to make a blog post about this. I don't know if any of you know where this originated from but I would love to explain it to you a little further. Before ugly Christmas sweaters were a thing we used to get sweaters for Christmas from grandmas who used to hand knit them. They were called ugly because they were usually not trending but they kept you warm during the holidays. I suppose Bill Cosby was a big influence in creating the iconic look of the ugly Christmas sweater.
Now-a-days the sweater has become an occasion where you create or purchase an ugly sweater and the person who has the ugliest sweater wins a prize. Or you all dress up in ugly sweaters for a christmas party. Either way i do not participate in these occasions to me it is weird to want to damage a perfectly good sweater or to go out and buy a sweater for a one time use.
