Since finishing my university and having learnt everything that I did. I cannot even begin to emphasize how important it is that when we can we shop local. Not only will it improve your local economy but also on a wide scale. A lot of shops are suffering because of online competitors but also because of huge chain stores that they simply can't compete with. Whether you are shopping for clothes, jewelry, art, food, or groceries. I am almost positive you can buy it locally.
The way you shop will change. Even if you don't want to I make it my challenge to you to stop into a store that is local or owned by the shopkeeper. I assure you that the service you experience will be a million times better and the quality of product that you are purchasing whether food or materialistic it will be so much better in all possible ways.
I hope that this post can inspire you in some way to change your habits a tiny bit and help improve the way that we think and the way that we spend our money. Why not spend a little less and get better products. I am definitely making it a New Year's resolution to try and be better at this and shop much more locally. It might be hard at first to find the little places that you love but when you find them you won't ever change your mind and think of ever going back to a chain store.
